REFERENDUM: VOTING PAPERS DUPLICATES AND REGISTRATION IN THE VOTERS LIST. SPECIAL OPENING

Please be informed that voters who have not received the ballot papers but who wish to exercise their right to vote can contact this Consulate by submitting this form (available in Italian only) by fax (021 424 0146) or e-mail (consolato.capetown@esteri.it) with a photocopy of an identity document, or in person at our offices.

The Consulate will be exceptionally open for this purpose (not for other consular services) on Saturday and Sunday 9-10 April from 10:00 to 12:00.

If the voter is duly registered in the Voters List, and did not receive the package for a postal issue, a duplicate may be issued. If the voter is NOT registered with the abovementioned list, the Consulate will apply for clearance by the Italian Municipality where the person is registered; only after obtaining the clearance will the Consulate add the person to the Voters List and issue them with their voting papers.
Italians who are not registered in the AIRE and who have not applied to vote as a temporary voters abroad may only vote at their municipality of residence in Italy.

Voting papers need to be returned to the Consulate by 14 April in order to be valid.
Voting papers may be returned by post or by hand during the opening times of the Consulate.
