NOTICE TO ITALIAN CITIZENS:
New procedure for:
- Passport application
- Power of Attorney documents
Italian citizens registered with “AIRE” at this Consulate are hereby informed that, with effect from 12 May 2014, passport applications and power of attorney documents will only be handled via appointment.
For passport issuance:
- The applicant must download the passport application form, complete it accurately in all fields and sign it;
- If the applicant has minor children he/she must download the consent form which has to be completed and signed by the other parent of the minor child;
Please be reminded that married of widowed women must complete and sign the form using their maiden surname only;
- The applicant must submit the application form (with the consent form if necessary) via e-mail to passaporti.capetown@esteri.it or via fax 021 4240146;
- The Passport office will contact the applicant via e-mail, or telephonically, within one working week after having received the application to set up an appointment at the Consulate;
- Once the above notification has been received the applicant must confirm the appointment and effect payment – preferably via EFT – or the prescribed amount may be paid in cash at the time of the appointment. If payment is effected via EFT proof of payment must be submitted on the day of the appointment.
For Power of Attorney documents:
