According to the Circular of the Ministry of Health no. 35209 of 4th August 2021, Italian citizens who have been vaccinated in South Africa against SARS-CoV-2 or who have recovered from COVID-19 in South Africa, will be able to apply for the issue of COVID-19
green pass for vaccination or recovery, on the basis of the criteria established by the law, by going to the local Health Authorities of territorial jurisdiction (ASL), presenting, in addition to the identification document, the following documentation:
– In case of vaccination
a) vaccination certificate issued by the South African Health Authority showing the following contents:
– identification data of the applicant (name, surname, date of birth);
– data relating to the vaccine (s) (name and lot);
– date (s) of inoculation of the vaccine (s);
– identification data of the Authority who issued the certificate.
For the issue of the COVID-19 Green Pass, only the following vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) are currently valid:
– Comirnaty (PfizerBioNtech);
– Spikevax (Modern);
– Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca);
– COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen (Janssen-Johnson & Johnson).
– In case of recovery
b) certificate of recovery issued by the South African Health Authority which contains at least the following contents:
– identification data of the owner (name, surname, date of birth);
– information on the holder’s previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, following a positive test (date of first positive molecular swab);
– identification data of the person who issued the certificate
The documentation must be written in English and does NOT require translation or legalization.
