The D.L. 4 October 2018, n.113, converted to law \u00a0on 1 December 2018, n.132, introduced changes to the law of February 5, 1992, n.91 regarding citizenship. In particular, the granting of Italian citizenship pursuant to article 5 (citizenship by marriage) and 9 (special cases) is subject to possession of an adequate knowledge of Italian, not lower than level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for knowledge of languages \u200b\u200b(CEFR).<\/p>\n
The assessment of this requirement must be carried out through the acquisition of:<\/p>\n
– A qualification awarded by a public or equivalent educational institution; or<\/p>\n
– A certification issued by a certifying body<\/p>\n
At present the following can be considered certifying bodies:<\/p>\n
– the University for Foreigners of Siena<\/p>\n
– the University for Foreigners of Perugia<\/p>\n
– the Roma Tre University<\/p>\n
– the Dante Alighieri Society.<\/p>\n
