CHILD UNDER 18 YEARS OF AN ITALIAN CITIZEN RESIDING IN THIS CONSULAR JURISDICTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To obtain a passport,\u00a0<strong>the applicant must be registered to AIRE or must have sent a registration request at least 30 days before the appointment to obtain the passport<\/strong>. For tariffs in Rand please see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conscapetown.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/altri-servizi\/tariffe-consolari\/\"><strong>Consular Tariffs page<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\nFrom 8 July 2014 yearly revenue stamps are no longer applicable.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nPAYMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The payment can be made in South African Rand only, in one of the following ways:<br \/>\n&#8211; Cash on the day of the appointment<br \/>\n&#8211;\u00a0EFT to the Consulate to be made prior to the appointment. Proof of payment needs to be brought to the appointment (for bank details please visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conscapetown.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/altri-servizi\/tariffe-consolari\/\"><strong>Consular Tariffs page<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The Euro-Rand exchange rate used for the payment of consular fees is declared quarterly by the Italian Embassy in Pretoria and immediately published on the website of the Consulate, where the amount due for the passport is clearly stated. Please visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conscapetown.esteri.it\/it\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/altri-servizi\/tariffe-consolari\/\"><strong>Consular Tariffs page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>PLEASE NOTE:<br \/>\nThe rate applicable is the rate in effect at time of issue of the passport.<br \/>\nIf your appointment date falls at the beginning of a quarter (in the first week of January, April, July or October) it is advisable to pay cash.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a name=\"Fingerprints\"><\/a>FINGERPRINTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The issue of a new passport requires the physical presence of the applicant at the Consulate in order to acquire the fingerprints.<br \/>\nThe following persons are exempt from fingerprinting:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Children under the age of 12<\/li>\n<li>People with documented diseases or permanent physical impediments (eg.
