ENTRANCE TO SOUTH AFRICA. UPDATE (2)

As a result of Decree no. 1199 issued by the South African government, the distinction between countries with high or low epidemic risk has been omitted.

Therefore, in South Africa - whatever the country of origin - travelers in possession of a Covid-19 type "PCR" test with a negative result and dating back no more than 72 hours before departure are admitted. The test must have been conducted by a licensed doctor / laboratory and signed by the person in charge.

If the word "negative" does not appear clearly in the report, it is advisable to translate it into English.

Travelers who are unable to produce suitable certification will be subjected to a quarantine period at their own expense.

It should also be noted that according to the Italian legislation in force, travel from South Africa is allowed only in the presence of precise reasons to be proven by means of a specific self-declaration, such as: work, health or study reasons, absolute urgency, return to your home, home or residence. Therefore, travel for tourism is NOT allowed.
