COVID-19 EMERGENCY

TASK FORCE FOR URGENT ASSISTANCE AND REMODULATION OF CONSULAR SERVICES

In light of the measures announced by the South African authorities for the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic (http://www.thepresidency.gov.za/press-statements/statement-president-cyril-ramaphosa-measures-combat-covid-19-epidemic .), the Consulate estalisblished a Task Force with new emergency lines:

- 066 5040818, active from Monday to Friday from 9 to 17, entirely dedicated to the COVID-19 emergency, both as regards the logistical aspects and for medical and health issues

- 066 0126201, active from Monday to Friday from 9 to 17, exclusively dedicated to the passport service

- 066 5040532, active from Monday to Friday from 9 to 17, dedicated to visas and other consular services

The emergency phone 083 3983010 will be active from Monday to Friday from 17 to 9 and on weekends 24h on 24h, for cases of proven urgency.

Starting tomorrow, the Consulate will adopt a new smart working mode with weekly staff rotation. Only highly urgent consular services will be provided, while all appointments got through the "Prenota Online" system will have to be rescheduled. To reschedule passport appointments or to request a refund of the consular fees which have already been paid through EFT, it is possible to contact the number 066 5040818, while for visas and other consular services the number 066 5040532 will be active.

Any appointment request for highly urgent reasons can be made by telephone at the abovementioned emergency lines or per e-mail at the address  consolato.capetown@esteri.it. The staff of the Consulate, once evalutaed the reasons of the appointment request, will be able to organize a special appointment, after taking extraordinary hygiene-sanitary measures. It will not be possible to access the Consulate premises without first agreeing on the appointment according to the abovementioned procedure.
